Godzilla Melee Remastered Tier List Hub

Ranks for Versus and melee, labeled as pre-launch until the demo lands.

Tier List Hub

A tier list for an unreleased remaster is a responsible rumor, not a science. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered has not shipped a balance patch. What we can rank is the 2002 kit plus 2026 booth notes. Pipeworks promised 99 percent mechanical fidelity, which is a fancy way of saying Destoroyah is probably still a problem and Megalon is probably still a teacher. This hub explains the method. The child page versus ranks prints the table.

If you wanted a list that pretends Kiryu is S+ because a tweet used fire emojis, you are in the wrong wiki. If you wanted a list that tells a new player whether to main Anguirus or to panic-buy Ghidorah, stay.

How these ranks were built

  1. Original English FAQs and IGN’s monster guide: resistances, Rage, who beats whom.
  2. Xbox extras folded in: Kiryu and Orga are now everyone else’s problem.
  3. IGN 2026 hands-on: Ghidorah still plays like Ghidorah, Godzilla 2000 still has weight, cities still crunch.
  4. Gamescom roster trailer: no secret 13th monster, intros returned, nothing that reads like a stealth buff announcement.
  5. Honesty rule: flyers are overrated in week-one online until people learn anti-air on controls.

We split Versus (1v1, no respawn) from 4-player Melee in the versus page notes. A character can be A in 1v1 and S in chaos because Rage pickups and military aggro like different bodies. How to play explains those systems so the letters mean something.

Quick read for impatient players

  • Do not buy Destoroyah first. He is high because veterans can use him, not because he plays the game for you.
  • Heisei Godzilla is A. That is a compliment. He is the curriculum.
  • Rodan is a skill check, not a free win. Energy tax is real.
  • Orga is for lab rats. Low representation is not the same as low ceiling.
  • Mechs cluster. If the remaster changed one gun, it may have changed all three. See mecha kaiju.

What will invalidate this list

  • A demo patch that retunes beam energy.
  • Online rollback that makes 4-player melee a different game than local.
  • Weather on maps that ruins flyer tracking.
  • DLC. Not announced. Not in the ranks.

When any of those happen, the updates hub will say so and this hub will point at a new table. Until November 3, treat every letter as a training priority. S means “lab this so you do not get surprised.” D means “play this because you love the movie.” Both are valid. Only S-as-identity is a trap.

How to use ranks with the rest of the wiki

New: getting started then starters, ignore S rows. Returning: open versus, pick a hole in your lineup, spend currency using the unlock planner. Party host: ban Mothership, allow Destoroyah, remind people that buildings are weapons. Collector: ignore this hub and buy Orga anyway.

The worst tier list is the one you follow instead of playing the Steam demo on October 15. The best tier list is a shopping list for lessons. Ours is trying to be the second thing.

For matchup flavor beyond letters, the kaiju roster still has the sentences that matter: who beams, who flies, who grabs, who cheats with Rage. Come back here when you need the one-page answer. Go there when you need the monster.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is this a launch-day tier list?

No. It is a pre-launch list based on 2002 kits and 2026 previews. The versus page repeats that disclaimer above the table.

Why isn't there a separate melee-only table yet?

Because we do not have 4-player remaster footage. Melee notes are folded into the versus page until the demo.

Will Switch 2 ranks differ from Steam?

Only if frame rate or readability tanks. That is a platforms issue, not a hidden character buff.
