Godzilla Melee Remastered System Requirements
Steam minimums are public. The recommended GPU line is still incomplete.
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is an Unreal Engine 5 city fighter. That combination is how you get a 6 GB install line and a 16 GB RAM line on the same Steam page. This tool quotes the minimum specs Atari actually published, flags the recommended block as incomplete, and then tells console owners they can skip the rest. If you are choosing a SKU rather than a GPU, open platforms.
Steam Deck compatibility was listed as unknown on the store page. Do not buy a Deck assuming 40 FPS Tokyo night. Wait for a verified badge after the October 15 demo.
Minimum (Windows / Steam)
Taken from the Steam store page and mirrored by PCGamingWiki and several launch roundups:
| Item | Minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 preferred |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| GPU | NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB / AMD RX 580 8 GB, DirectX 12 / Shader Model 6 |
| Storage | 6 GB |
| Other | 64-bit CPU and OS, controller recommended |
If your laptop is 8 GB RAM, you are under spec. If your GPU is a GTX 1650 4 GB, you are under spec. If your CPU is a dual-core from 2014, you are under spec. UE5 cities with destructible geo are not the 2002 GameCube ISO you remember.
Recommended
Steam’s recommended section, as of the last check before this article, only repeated “Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system” before the store’s READ MORE cut off. Roundups in Spanish and English both said the recommended GPU had not been detailed. This wiki will not invent an RTX 3060 or RTX 4070 line to look helpful. When Atari fills the box, this table grows a column.
Until then, a practical read: the minimum already asks for a 6 GB 1060-class card. 1080p with night Tokyo, weather, and four kaiju will want more. If you care about 4K, which the press kit mentions, budget like a modern UE5 title, not like a 6 GB indie port. The 6 GB disk number is also suspiciously small for UE5; the gamescom demo installer will tell us if that number was a placeholder.
Console hardware
You do not need this table if you buy PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, or Switch 2. Those SKUs are certified machines. What you do need:
- A pad. See controls.
- The right online subscription if you want matchmaking.
- An expectation check on Switch handheld: Nintendo lists HDR on compatible TVs and a 3.9 GB file size estimate. Handheld night stages may be the softest image in the set. Prefer day stages from maps if the demo looks muddy.
Xbox Series S versus X is unstated. Assume S runs a lower mode. Assume X aims at the 4K pitch. No official split has been posted.
Storage, SSD, and downloads
6 GB minimum, 3.9 GB Switch 2 estimate. Put it on an SSD anyway. UE5 streaming hates 5400 RPM nostalgia. DirectX 12 is not optional on PC. Shader Model 6 is in the same bullet. Integrated GPUs are not in the minimum column. Do not try to be the person who runs atomic breath on a UHD 630.
A go / no-go checklist
- 16 GB RAM? If no, stop.
- GTX 1060 6 GB, RX 580 8 GB, or newer, with up-to-date DX12 drivers? If no, stop.
- Windows 10 64-bit or 11? If no, stop.
- A controller? If no, buy one before you blame the how to play page.
- Still unsure? Wait for the Steam demo. Ten dollars of pride is more expensive than waiting three weeks.
If you pass the checklist, wishlist from the header and read preorder. If you fail it, buy a console SKU or sit this Godzilla Day out. The preview will still be here when your hardware catches up.
